My Opa immigrated to Nova Scotia from Holland in 1951 and bouht the farm in 1953 with his brother Ben teBogt. In 1957 Uncle Ben bought his own farm in Grand Pre and my Opa's twin brother Herman came to the farm until he bought his own farm in Falmouth in 1970. Now the dairy part of the farm is owned and operated by my uncles Ron and Paul teBogt, and the broiler chicken part of the farm is owned and operated by my father Peter and uncle Carl teBogt, but we all work together.
In 2011 I started growing vegetables on the farm and now sell them at the Wolfville Farmers Market and through my CSA program. In 2012 I bought 10 sheep and a llama. In February 2013, my dad and I got 4 female pigs and a boar, and in July we bought 100 laying hens.
